BRDA Foundation Charity Auction

The charity auction "Polish Design. Ukrainian Reconstruction" featured works by 40 Polish artists and designers, the sale of their works allowed BRDA Foundation to continue its WINDOW Project.

The WINDOW Project (Okno) deals with shipping windows to Ukrainan social organizations involved in the reconstruction of houses destroyed in the war.

During bombings, windows are the first to break. In many places most affected by war, this is the only way to repair damaged buildings. Repairs in war conditions are difficult, especially since even before the war, as much as 70 percent of glass and windows in Ukraine were imported from Russia and Belarus.

Thanks to the WINDOW Project, several dozen plastic windows from the outdated Atrium office building were sent to the small village of Kamionka instead of to landfill, where after the buildings were appropriately adapted, they continue to serve their function. The Foundation has sent over 1,863 windows to Ukraine, which has helped support nearly a thousand families. The exhibition "Poetics of Necessity", presenting the project, was exhibited at London Design Biennale in 2023, where it won the award in the category "To the most outstanding overall contribution".
