GLUE Amsterdam

Szkło was exhibited as one of 30 designers and artists for “Stretching the Definition of Design” based in the Netherlands to participate in GLUE Amsterdam 2023.

GLUE is a Design Festival based in Amsterdam, this year taking place from September 14-17. GLUE's primary mission was to present a community of designers and makers by providing a space for exhibitions, presentations and discussions. The mission of the Festival is to interest the general public in the work of designers, which takes place over the four days of the design tour. Rubiah Balsem and David Heldt have made a curatorial selection for 2023 to showcase the wide range of Amsterdam's creative community at GLUE.

Every year, the curatorial team selects 30 artists/designers working in the Netherlands, whose work is presented during the Festival under the slogan "Stretching the Definition of Design". Designers, artists and creators who design and produce their own designs that increasingly convey a message that goes beyond beauty, style or concept. Contemporary design that is expressive and close to visual art, an object of use as a collector's item, design as a carrier of communication, work that contributes to a more sustainable economy, an alternative view on social issues.
