Riot Vases

Opening on November 25, 16:00-21:00
Riot Gallery, Berezyńska 3/1, Warsaw

The vase is an interior design object that may be looked at through the prism of aesthetics, not function. It is an illustration of the designer's skills, an indicator of the craftsman's knowledge of the material, and a reflection of the artist's imagination. Among everyday objects, it is the vase that would lead the rebellion due to its variety of versions. RIOT VASES is an exhibition presenting various versions of vases made by over 20 Polish artists with different experiences and ways of thinking. Thanks to their unique skills, a functional form becomes an artistic object. By juxtaposing different points of view and personalities, we show how one simple object, thanks to the use of many techniques and materials, can take on different forms, tell different stories and cause confusion. The exhibition is the inauguration of RIOT GALLERY, a space manifesting rebellious ideas, celebrating experiments and a fresh take on art, design and craft.
