Semiophores: Obiecta Animata
ALCOVA Milano
Milan Design Week, 2026
The exhibition proposed a perspective on the object as a living presence. Drawing on Krzysztof Pomian's concept of semiophore, objects acquire meaning when stripped of their function and placed on display. In this context, they become Obiecta Animata — forms animated by the viewer's gaze— and transform into collectible design, transforming simple activities—such as eating or storing—into meaningful experiences.
Participants in the exhibition include Formsophy, Felipe Escudero & Roman de Lorenzo, Aleksandra Zawistowska, William Guillon, Camille Tan, and Stanek Wichliński.
